We are partnering with a rapidly growing, tech-forward organization in the healthcare data sector to hire an experienced Field Services Technician to support their international headquarters in Galway, Ireland.
This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite) and serves as a technical lead within the IT Field Services team. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support, mentor junior technicians, and ensure seamless operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead for IT Field Services Technicians, providing daily support, guidance, and training.
- Coordinate installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of computers, peripherals, and network devices across various sites.
- Develop, document, and improve SOPs for IT infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to support broader strategic initiatives.
- Maintain and track IT asset inventory, ensuring accuracy in hardware and software documentation.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to maximize uptime.
- Support IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
- Act as a primary point of contact for vendors and external service providers.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance service delivery.
- Log incidents and problem tickets in ServiceNow and maintain clear communication on ticket status.
- Work with other technical teams to resolve cross-functional technical issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and follow ITIL best practices.
- Maintain organized server rooms and technical workspaces.
- Respond promptly to network, server, and application outages.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant IT Field Services experience.
- Preferred certifications: ITIL (v3 or v4), CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and basic automation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and ITSM processes.
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, Windows/Mac OS, and common productivity applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with a team.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure with attention to detail.
