ABOUT OUR ROLE:
We’re looking for a reliable, versatile, and communicative WordPress + WooCommerce developer to support our existing e-commerce site on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will help maintain and improve our website, implement new product features, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize our existing WordPress + WooCommerce website
- Add new products and custom product configuration (e.g., pie + pint bundles)
- Restore lost media/audio content for individual ice cream flavor pages
- Improve static pages to match the site’s design standards
- Implement a zip-code-based store locator plugin
- Explore options for a potential wholesale order form
- Offer light SEO and plugin maintenance guidance (without AI overwriting our brand tone)
- Advise on hosting, security, and best practices
- Be available for periodic requests (small tasks, not full-time work)
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience with WordPress and WooCommerce customization
- Ability to work independently, clearly communicate, and follow through
- Comfort working with small businesses, budgets, and practical constraints
- Eye for design consistency and user experience
- Experience integrating plugins, shortcodes, and theme customization
- Basic understanding of SEO and security best practices
- Fluency in English
- Bonus: experience working with quirky, fun brands
Work Structure:
