About the Opportunity
Our client is building AI-powered literacy tools that help educators create personalized reading materials in seconds. The platform enables teachers, tutors, schools, and tutoring centers to generate decodable stories, word lists, fluency passages, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with the Science of Reading.
The product is already being used by educators to save hours every week while increasing student engagement and personalization.
We are looking for a highly capable engineer who is already deep into agentic AI development and excited to build practical, real-world AI systems that directly impact learning outcomes.
What You’ll Work On
- Build and improve AI workflows that generate personalized literacy and reading content
- Design and implement agentic systems that reason through multi-step educational tasks
- Develop product features across the stack using Python and React
- Improve prompting, orchestration, retrieval, evaluation, and content generation pipelines
- Collaborate closely with product and leadership to rapidly prototype and ship features
- Work on personalization, progress tracking, lesson generation, and adaptive learning experiences
- Help shape the architecture and future direction of an AI-native education platform

What We’re Looking For
We care more about capability and AI product intuition than perfect credentials.
Ideal candidates:
- Are already building agentic AI systems in production or side projects
- Have strong problem-solving ability and can move quickly with ambiguity
- Understand how to work effectively with LLMs beyond simple prompting
- Have experience designing autonomous or semi-autonomous workflows
- Can own features end-to-end
- Are product-minded and obsessed with creating useful user experiences
- Have experience with Python and modern frontend development (React required)
- Thrive in startup environments with high ownership and fast iteration
Bonus Points
- Experience in edtech or learning tools
- Experience with retrieval systems, evaluations, memory, or tool use
- Familiarity with structured literacy or the Science of Reading
- Experience building AI copilots, agents, or workflow automation systems
- Startup or early-stage company experience
