About the Role:
We are looking for a Sr Backend Engineer with a strong foundation in building robust, scalable, and secure backend systems. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and refining backend services that drive the platform. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver features that enhance functionality, ensure compliance, and provide a seamless user experience. This position offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact by translating complex requirements into practical, innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Backend Development: Design, develop, and optimize FastAPI-based backend services to meet the evolving needs of the platform.
- Database Management: Create and manage PostgreSQL database schemas, including designing new tables and optimizing queries for performance and scalability.
- Authentication and Security: Develop and refine authentication systems using JWT and implement flexible, secure access control mechanisms.
- Cloud and DevOps: Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy, monitor, and scale backend services in cloud environments.
- Audit Logging: Design and maintain robust audit logging systems to track user activities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Asynchronous Operations: Develop and enhance asynchronous CRUD operations while maintaining data integrity and system reliability.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers, front-end engineers, and project managers to align backend services with user and business needs.
- Code Quality and Documentation: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, ensuring the team can easily adapt to changing project requirements.
- Testing and Iteration: Participate in testing cycles, identify areas for improvement, and implement iterative updates to optimize performance and functionality
Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of backend development experience, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and secure applications.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and SQL Alchemy. Experience with Alembic and JWT is a strong plus.
- Security Mindset: Knowledge of authentication and security principles, including adaptive security measures and role-based access control.
- Database Evolution: Experience with database migration tools like Alembic to manage schema changes and versioning.
- Audit and Compliance: Familiarity with audit logging best practices and the ability to implement compliant logging solutions.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Continuous Learning: A proactive approach to learning new tools, frameworks, and technologies to stay ahead in backend development
